Clutch did not start as a spreadsheet exercise. It started with the same frustration enthusiasts kept running into on the road, in forums, and at events.
Julian's career has been built on managing high-value assets, moving from fast-paced commercial property investment in the City of London into complex rural estate management across the South of England. That professional background gives Clutch a founder who understands operational detail, long-term value, and the discipline required to manage real assets well.
Away from work, his life has always been driven by internal combustion. Turning wrenches in the garage, heading out for track days, or exploring backroads on two wheels, Julian is a lifelong petrolhead who knows the community from the inside.
The idea for Clutch came from personal frustration with fragmented forums, broken route planners, and disjointed event calendars. After hearing the same headache from other enthusiasts again and again, Julian combined corporate problem-solving experience with personal passion to build a modern, centralised digital home for the automotive community.
